Technical Support Engineer
Being a Technical Support Representative allows you to use the full breadth of your technical knowledge and skills. This is not your average technical support position! In this exciting role, you will be part of the Technical Support global organization with an emphasis on collaboration and customer focus. You will be responsible for interacting with a subset of PTCs largest most strategic customers that require a high level of service.
Technical Support Engineers are experts in one or more line of products while staying focused on providing a high touch customer experience. You will assume a combination of responsibilities working with our customers and the greater PTC Team to resolve software issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives calls or messages from customers having problems, interacts with the user to determine the source of error, investigates the cause, and resolves problems for the software users.
Design, code, implement, and support the client technology. This includes:
o Base product installation across client supported platforms, often built for high load and high availability
o Web Services integration, typically to ERP/CRM systems, remote diagnostic systems, and security suites
o Application customization
Prioritizes issues of varying severity, and effectively manages the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels.
Logs support calls and follows escalation procedures. Keeps customer informed of how and when problems are resolved. Performs any additional follow up, testing and troubleshooting.
Analyzes trends associated with the assigned customer base and reports potential areas of risk, improvement and opportunities to management.
Performs routine software maintenance and assists in proper upkeep and utilization of the software. Provides in-depth technical assistance and maintenance support to end users.
Technical / Functional Consulting with the clients to accommodate and resolve their business needs
Design / Develop / maintain scripts in UNIX / Linux / Windows
Design / Develop / maintain modules in Data Integration tools
SQL Server / Oracle administration
Designing / Optimizing Stored procedures
Performance troubleshooting
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar fields
Excellent programming and analytical skills with hands-on experience programming in a Java/J2EE architecture
J2EE Application server configuration experience with Tomcat and/or Websphere
Windows / UNIX scripting experience
2-3 years of hands on experience for the following technologies: Javascript, CSS, HTML, JQuery, JSON, Struts, spring, JSP and Servlet.
Solid understanding of Internet application technologies, including HTML, XML, Internet protocols, networking, firewalls, Web Server configurations, Internet application architectures based upon Java technology and Internet security
1+ year of experience in developing, configuration, maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting stored procedures and SQL on Oracle / SQL Server / DB2
Experience on ETL tools, specifically Informatica is a plus
Broad range of troubleshooting skills related to software functionality, application server setup, database management, data analysis, app server configuration, performance tuning, installation, migration, and upgrades
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Excellent English and French or German language skills
Should be flexible with 24*7 working hours
