Position Description
Software Performance Testing focusses on the activities such as evaluating and understanding the performance features introduced in the product (Teradata Database and QueryGrid Products), test scenarios which are being used in the daily activities. It also involves a need to come up with new test scenarios based on performance enhancements, designing testing processes, test methodologies which is suitable for the performance test team. It involves participation in the different activities like documenting the newly written scenarios, deploy the new scenarios in the existing framework, understand the environment, and come up with different ways in which the process can be improved, and the process can be tweaked to become more efficient.
Is responsible for
- Designing and developing the scenarios based on the requirements written from the product requirement specification.
- Converting the business requirements to performance requirements to develop the scenarios that are usable, efficient, cost effective, maintainable and reliable. Automating the same for repeat runs and to improve productivity
- Constructing the scenarios which meets requirements and facilitates ease of support.
- Conduct proper unit tests for the scenarios, track the issues and implement changes to ensure adherence to the documented test requirements.
- Diagnosing, isolating and implementing remedies for performance test failures by utilizing the software based system maintenance and tracking tools.
- Provide input and technical content for technical documentation.
- Understand the existing test framework in a quick period of time and suggest improvements for the same.

Work Environment:
This position is located at the Teradata India Engineering & Support (TIES) location in Hyderabad; a highly technical environment with highly skilled technical associates.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic individual that can take on the challenge of evaluating the Teradata RDBMS product performance. In this role, you will be tasked to work on existing performance test in addition to performance test designing and planning, developing and automating tests, and testing, characterizing and analyzing the various performance features in the product. The job requires team collaboration and technical leadership skills are desirable.

Strong Test development, test automation and test design expertise
Basic programming skills
Perl & Unix shell scripting
work experience involving software development relating performance features or proven ability on performance characterization or performance evaluation in software development cycle is highly desirable or involving deep white box test experience
Good experience in UNIX/Linux
Preferences:
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Strong in RDBMS/SQL, Proficiency with RDBMS and schema design
